My name is Henry Greenslade, and I’m a technology enthusiast.

Since I was about 8 years old I’ve been tearing into computers, figuring out just how they tick and finding different things I can do or change to make my experience better. My fist PC repair was when I upgraded my old and broken CD-ROM drive to a flash new DVD/RW drive. It didn’t take long for me to start upgrading and changing different parts of my PC at the time, adding more hard drives and learning how to use partitions etc. From there I have greatly expanded my knowledge to a point where I can now build and service new PCs, laptops, networks, servers, phones and more.

After my CIT course I want to follow on through to the Bachelors of IT with Otago Polytechnic.

This picture is about as descriptive as it gets for me, I'm an IT enthusiast and this is my latest project.

This PC has been built up to be a home server for our flat, with six 2TB drives striped in RAID5 for redundancy & speed, we have a whopping 10TB of available storage to take over the world with. Server has been configured to be a Plex.TV Media server, Web server, TeamSpeak server, NAS and much more.

Running this server on our network allows us to centralise media such as movies and television shows, shared directories and large downloads. This server also contributes to the wider open source community as a seed node for a few of the latest Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora and Mint.

Needless to say I'm happy to be here at Otago Polytech to expand my knowledge and meet people who share my interests.
